Spring Trends for Grooms 2011

With beautiful wedding gown trends for spring 2011 moving away from the traditional white and ivory, stunning hues of grey, pale blues and soft pinks fluttered down the catwalks for this season. The Grooms attire should complement these softer tones, think charcoals and soft greys (and I don’t mean shiny silver suits!) keep the fabric matt, the suit structured for a formal look or for a softer more casual look a gorgeous linen suit would be just perfect. To complete the look for the more traditional groom, keep the shirt crisp and white with plain tie or cravat in, grey, pale blue or soft pink or match the bridal gown or bridesmaids dresses. For the less formal groom who wants  to wear a structured suit, go for a soft pale coloured shirt and white tie, this look is definitely  for a modern sharp groom who also wants to make an impact. For the less formal groom the perfect combination to go with a soft grey linen suit is a ditsy or liberty floral shirt with pale blooms to welcome in the spring!

Blue is the colour this spring 2011 for the fashion conscious groom, who likes to be bang on trend, from navy to French to pale. Whatever your wedding theme or inspiration a blue suit depending on the shade you go for, can cater for the classic groom to the quirky. For the traditional groom who doesn’t want to wear a morning suit or a classic black or grey; a dark navy blue suit could be the answer. It is smart, elegant and when beautifully tailored can be oh so sharp! It also has a modern edge to it. Mixed with a crisp white shirt and a preppy stripe tie it will make the groom look smart and sophisticated, perfect for a city chic wedding or accessorise a French blue suit with a pastel or floral shirt with a plain or floral tie for a more vintage feel, the perfect complement to a brides vintage inspired wedding gown, an amazing look for spring.

Coming out of the dark of winter and into the light of spring another colour trend for the Groom this spring 2011, are the neutral tones of Camel.  Following from this springs bridal trends inspired by the 70’s, the translation for the grooms is not in style but in colour (no bell bottoms for the groom’s Thank you!!!).  Cotton suits in light camel colours look fresh, clean and relaxed. This should not be the choice for the groom whose bride is wearing a very traditional wedding dress. This is a much more casual, informal affair. A great choice if you are having a spring wedding abroad or a garden party theme. A light suit can look fantastic with a white slim fitting shirt and stripped tie or a gingham shirt with a plain tie can look very stylish, and perfect to make sure you don’t look like every other groom. Brown shoes or canvas pumps only with this suit choice please!
